We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer with a strong background in relational and NoSQL Databases. This role involves developing tools for self-service capabilities, collaborating with engineering teams, and enhancing our database infrastructure.Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Architectures and application teams to design and implement, scalable and reliable database solutions including high availability solutions and backup and recovery strategies.
- Write code to capture database performance and create tools and dashboards to provide actionable insight into that data and implement performance enhancements for database systems.
- Develop and implement automation scripts, tools, and workflows to streamline database provisioning, configuration, patching and upgrades, maintenance, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Security team to implement and maintain security measures, access controls, and compliance standards to protect sensitive data.
- Effectively communicate technical ideas and produce technical proposals, best practices, design specs, architecture diagrams, and presentations
- Participate in L3/L4 level triage activities, Incident response calls and handle on-call escalations.
- Conduct Proof of Concept/Technology on emerging and new technologies and create product roadmaps.
- Train and Mentor other database engineers
- 7+ years of experience in areas of database design and automation.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in databases engineering and support.
- 5+ years of experience with Oracle RDBMS technologies.
- 5+ Years of experience with Performance Tuning.
- 3+ years of experience with data replication technologies like Golden Gate.
- 3+ Years of experience developing with Shell scripts, python scripts, Jenkins CI/CD Pipelines
- 3+ years of experience writing SQL queries for root cause analysis and tuning.
- Experience working as a Database Engineer in large scale past paced environment, high volume, online transaction processing (OLTP) systems. Healthcare experience.
- Experience with deployment automation/configuration management tools like Chef, Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
- Experience in deploying cloud native databases in GCP or Azure cloud.
- Experience with non-relation databases such as MongoDB and Cosmos DB.
- Knowledge in one more DB technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL.
- Certifications in Cloud and Database Technologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and have a results-oriented attitude.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks independently.
- Very strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Experience with In-Memory databases such as Redis.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or similar degree.
The typical pay range for this role is:$118,450.00 - $284,280.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
