The Executive Director, Application Development- Commercial claim and reimbursement will define and own the vision and strategy for the mainframe ecosystem. This role is pivotal in driving the organization's modernization efforts and enhancing our critical assets, including Claims, Eligibility, and Plans. The Executive Director will develop a flexible, multi-year roadmap to revitalize the mainframe ecosystem, integrating people, processes, and technology. Innovation will be a key component of this strategy

You will make an impact by:
  • Define, own, and continually assess the mainframe vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring that the roadmap is achievable with varying levels of funding.
  • Evaluate and leverage new technologies (such as AI) to augment or replace mainframe-based capabilities.
  • Leading engineering teams across the Commercial and Network/Provider Areas. Own and drive the mainframe development experience, improving the efficiency of resources. Own and drive the resource strategy for mainframe systems, ensuring stability for CVS IP on these critical assets.
  • Define and revise KPIs for the solution-level scorecard to highlight critical metrics, socialize progress, and consistently reinforce objectives.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure alignment of product strategy with organizational objectives.
  • Develop a strong relationship with enterprise architecture to take POC items into production.
  • Fully detail the TCO for mainframe assets in collaboration with internal Finance. Fully leverage CVS vendor partner capabilities to yield maximum results.
  • Mentor the Executive Director of Claim and Reimbursement to ensure a comprehensive transition.
Required Qualifications

15+ years of overall work experience in mainframe centric roles

10+ years of Claim Adjudication or surrounding area experience

10+ years of
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to convey information in an accessible, concise, and clear manner.
  • Experience with navigate complex, multi-stakeholder client environment.
  • Expertise with influencing and navigating a highly matrixed environment to drive new strategies.
  • Experience leading and developing high performing teams.
  • Expertise with proactively identifying and addressing potential issues, evaluating alternative courses of action, and making sound management decisions.
  • Expertise with synthesizing vision into execution priorities and delivering on concurrent initiatives.
  • Approaching challenges with a sense of urgency, ability to work well under pressure and take direction.
Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:$175,100.00 - $334,750.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
