DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Team Leader - Level IV to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Ladson, SC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensure Safety Compliance : Prompt reporting of hazards and incidents promotes a culture of safety.
  • Enhance Quality Control : Through rigorous inspections and adherence to quality procedures, you will minimize costs and ensure high standards.
  • Optimize Production : By monitoring team performance and coordinating activities, you'll help meet production specifications and schedules efficiently.
  • Foster Continuous Improvement : Assisting in organizing training and mentoring team members will drive continuous improvement and skill development.
  • Facilitate Communication : Effective communication with your team and other departments will ensure smooth operations and quick resolution of issues.
  • Support HSE Initiatives : Engaging in HSE training and using PPE will protect yourself and others, contributing to a safer workplace.
  • Address Operational Issues : As a first responder to equipment faults and quality issues, ensuring minimal disruption to production is paramount.
  • Promote Teamwork : By participating in improvement initiatives and personal development, you'll enhance team cohesion and overall performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Collaboration : Build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with your team and other departments to achieve shared goals. This will ensure smooth operations and a cohesive work environment.
  • Effective Communication : Develop and deliver clear, multi-mode communications tailored to the needs of different audiences. This will help in conveying important information and ensuring everyone is on the same page.

  • Conflict Management : Handle conflict situations calmly and effectively, minimizing disruptions and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Health and Safety : Champion proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting, and participating in actions to improve workplace safety. This will contribute to building an interdependent culture and an injury-free workplace.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge : Demonstrate a strong understanding of manufacturing processes. Implement changes in processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and drive continuous improvement.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

  • HSE : Ensure 5S standards are maintained, planned audits regularly performed, findings addressed on time, boards and metrics are up to date, plan & perform regular "Go See Act" walks to monitor progress and take actions as needed.
  • Ensure strong communication & build relationships with support functions (TPM Tech, Controls Tech, engineers, Materials & shipping tech)
  • Documents/coaches employee that are not at his/her workstation on time (at the beginning of shift, during breaks); Objective is to create an environment where employees can be depended on when it comes to rotating breaks.
