DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Logistics Student (12 months) to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Cummins Inc. facility in Troy, MI.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensure Safety : By stopping work and reporting any major injury hazards immediately, you'll help maintain a safe working environment and protect your colleagues.
  • Promote Health Standards : Reporting any work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards ensures compliance with HSE standards and fosters a culture of safety.
  • Maintain Quality : Following standard work processes and performing quality checks will help minimize discrepancies and ensure the integrity of incoming and outgoing goods.
  • Efficient Delivery : Preparing and packaging outgoing shipments accurately and operating equipment to meet customer expectations will ensure timely and efficient delivery.
  • Housekeeping : Keeping your work area clean and orderly, including performing routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks, will contribute to a well-maintained and efficient workspace.
  • Team Collaboration : Communicating effectively with your team and support teams will foster a collaborative work environment and improve overall productivity.
  • Continuous Improvement : Participating in training and actively seeking ways to improve quality, safety, and processes will drive continuous improvement and personal development.
  • Support Operations : Assisting Lab Team Leaders, Test Engineers, and Test Technicians with obtaining and delivering test sample components will ensure smooth and efficient operations in the test lab.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Warehouse Operations - Utilizes warehousing tools, systems, and methodologies to meet defined metrics for inbound and outbound operations of a warehouse.

Education/Experience:

Pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in general studies, Logistics, Industrial Technology, Supply Chain, or Facilities Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Analytical mind and business acumen
  • Proficient with personal computers and Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. and push/pull 150 lbs.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to become trained and certified on forklift.
  • Ability to operate an overhead crane.
  • Mechanical background
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving protocols.
  • Up to 40 hours of on-site employment per week; availability during key laboratory hours

Compensation:

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
