DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Sr Project Manager - Strategic Data Center NA to join our team specializing in Sales for Cummins Inc. in Vancouver, WA.

  7. Record Maintenance : Keeping detailed project notes, databases, and records will ensure transparency and accountability, aiding in effective project tracking and reporting.
  8. Team Guidance : By assigning resources, guiding, and coaching team members, you'll foster their development and ensure that project tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  1. Project Issue and Risk Management : Utilize recommended tools and disciplines to identify, assess, and prioritize issues and risks. Proactively drive actions to minimize, monitor, and control these risks and issues, aiming for the most positive outcomes.
  2. Project Resource Management : Develop comprehensive resource plans, including expense and headcount, using project management tools and processes. This will help you manage resources effectively and ensure that your projects are well-supported.
  3. Project Schedule Management : Use schedule management tools and processes to create and maintain a detailed project schedule. This will help you drive project completion within the agreed timeline, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
  4. Project Scope Management : Manage the project deliverables list using project management tools and processes. Ensure that the project includes all necessary work and only the required work to complete the project successfully, avoiding scope creep.
  5. Adaptability to Target Audience : Be able to explain complex topics in a way that your target audience can understand, retain, and use the information. Tailor your communication to suit different audiences, whether they are sales professionals, customers, or training vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.
  • Bachelor of electrical/mechanical engineering or related educational, training and experience.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience, including team leadership experience, required.

Additional Responsibilities

  • The Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, control and completion of data center power generation projects, from Cummins equipment delivery to final testing and turnover. This will include the ownership of the project scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Job location is Hybrid with up to 25% travel (candidate can be based out of any city within the US).
  • Ability to interface with the customer, contractors, consulting engineers and vendors.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedule.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must possess strong organizational and planning skills and be capable of multi-tasking on a variety of complex tasks
  • Must be able to manage databases and reporting mechanisms for project milestones. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of programs, specially Excel.
  • Must be data and process oriented/driven.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with Sales, Production, Purchasing, Project Administration, Engineering and Service Team both within and outside of their account.
  • Must possess a good base of understanding of project financials.
  • Must quickly be able to build rapport with external stakeholders - client and trade partners.
  • Knowledge of power generation products is preferred but not required.
