DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Project Manager-General Management (Hybrid role) to join our team specializing in Project Management for our Business Development and Marketing Unit in, North Shoreview MN.

Job Summary:

Manages, develops, and implements project(s) of varying complexity and size in assigned functional area. Partners with business stakeholders to ensure a successful project completion.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead multiple projects from start to finish, ensuring successful completion.
  • Facilitate planning sessions to define project scope and objectives with stakeholders.
  • Establish and track project performance goals with business stakeholders.
  • Design project plans, develop timelines, and monitor milestones.
  • Identify, track, and resolve project issues collaboratively.
  • Communicate project status effectively to the project team and stakeholders.
  • Manage project budgets, conduct research, and provide input on plans and timelines.
  • Guide and coach team members, providing developmental feedback throughout the project stages.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university, or equivalent degree required.

Experience:

Intermediate level of relevant work experience, including team leadership experience, required.

QUALIFICATIONS

NES is a pioneering business segment at Cummins, focusing on executing innovative projects with new technologies , including products and applications designed as pilots for customers, regions, sub-vendors, and Cummins execution teams. These projects involve planning and managing evolving Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and collaborating with functional experts to bring critical knowledge, experience, and proactive execution expertise in areas such as product compliance, HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment), testing authorities, and more.

This role requires the Project Manager to be agile , willing to unlearn and relearn methods , and able to build resilience within the team. You must ensure the team stays composed and solution-focused when unexpected challenges or blind spots arise during project execution.

Global Coordination : While primarily focused on North America, collaborate with worldwide teams and support execution of activities/tasks to leverage NES technologies and processes across regions

Technical Proficiency : Familiarity with emerging technologies such as BESS, fuel cells, or microgrids, and experience with project management tools and frameworks like FMEA or PMP methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field).
  • PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • 8+ years of experience managing technology-based or pilot projects in the energy sector or related industries.
  • Knowledge of compliance and safety standards for new technology systems.
  • Experience working in cross-functional, global teams.
