DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Project Assistant to join our team specializing in Engineering for Cummins in Daventry, UK.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Coordinate the movement of parts between Daventry locations and external destinations to support production engineering processes.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of engineering storage, ensuring efficient organization and accessibility.
  • Order parts to facilitate rig testing and other system evaluations, ensuring timely availability for engineering needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to support fit checks of new components on the production line.
  • Work with external suppliers to procure specialized test components required for engineering projects.
  • Create and update New Engine Build Sequence (NEBS) documents to align with engine assembly requirements.
  • Organize parts for 3D scanning tests and prepare field-returned parts for submission to lab testing.
  • Support facilities by maintaining inspection and hot desk areas, documenting part conditions, conducting audits, and scheduling equipment maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Demonstrates a proactive mindset and "can-do" attitude, complemented by strong MS Office and project management skills.
  • Effectively communicates with diverse audiences, building strong customer relationships and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Excels at managing complexity and resolving conflicts constructively to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Plans and prioritizes work effectively, with the ability to perform manual handling tasks and (ideally) forklift operations. Training can be provided if needed.
  • Must have a valid UK driving license.
  • Previous FLT experience would be desirable.
  • Cummins Genset product knowledge would be an advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Experience:

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
