Problem Investigation: Lead investigations into product or system issues, understand their root causes, recommend actions, and document results to ensure high-quality resolutions.

Problem Solving Processes: Apply and support structured problem-solving processes, such as the seven-step approach, to enable effective repair events and improve product reliability.

Technical Solutions: Anticipate potential issues in the field and deliver robust technical solutions to prevent problems and enhance product performance.

Service Preparation: Ensure the service channel is well-prepared for efficient service events by confirming the availability of parts, tools, accurate diagnostics, and customer care for new products.

Engineering Decisions: Lead consensus with technical experts to make proactive engineering decisions, reducing customer downtime through effective failure analysis and data trend analysis.

Project Management: Manage and coach others on large-scale projects, providing independent leadership on smaller projects or complex components with full accountability.

Process Improvement: Lead the development and improvement of work processes and systems within your functional discipline, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Knowledge Transfer: Coordinate and direct work among technicians and temporary employees, assisting in the transfer of knowledge to less experienced engineers and influencing technical direction within the project team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Field Investigation and Support: Gather and communicate technical information effectively to resolve product or process issues quickly, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Product Failure Reporting and Corrective/Preventive Action Systems: Lead processes to record, prioritize, and resolve product failures using cross-functional reviews and rigorous problem-solving methods.

Product Problem Solving: Implement robust, data-based solutions to solve product problems, determine root causes, and prevent recurrence.

Product Serviceability Requirements and Review: Develop and publish procedures for technicians to safely repair and maintain products, ensuring accessibility of repairable components.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.

Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.

Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.

Additional Details:

Commissioning Engineer manages commissioning of paralleling systems and is the technical lead for Digital Master Controllers. Input is given for new and upgraded systems to sales department. Direct technicians on commissioning as needed with emphasis on providing a fully tested system. Paralleling, Cummins generator and controls along with ATS experience a must. Electronics, data networks, and PLC experience required.

Job requires between 50 and 75% travel across the Midwest states.

Preferred home location is Ohio/Indiana area but can be based in any CSSNA north region state. Travel is to sites in region while trying to assign a project to the nearest commissioning engineer.

Compensation

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
