Job Description Summary

As a member of Project Management team, you will be responsible for executing cold and hot commissioning activities for instrumentation, Alspa DCS, and turbine generator control (TGC) systems in power plants. This role ensures all activities are conducted safely, in compliance with project quality standards and schedules. The ideal candidate should have expertise in Alspa DCS, utilizing engineering tools such as Controcad for site-specific tuning and modifications, as well as hands-on experience in field instrumentation configuration and testing, including HART protocol.

This is fixed term contract role for 1 year.

  • Perform cold and hot commissioning activities for ALSPA DCS and Turbine Generator control systems.
  • Ensure the proper sequence of commissioning steps for system integration.
  • Activities related to testing and validation of instrumentation components & controls systems of the equipment in a plant or facility in accordance with the design objectives or specifications for operational use. This includes operational testing and performance tests.
  • Study, review and correct logic and hardware documentation (SAMA, PFUPs, Wiring Diagrams,...)
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with other disciplines, contractors, and client representatives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding progress, issues, and resolutions.
  • Loop checks, Instrumentation setting and testing (Hart, protocol, ...)
  • Tune and monitor both closed and open loop function
  • Knowledge of software and hardware of numerous PLC based Control/Monitoring systems, ABB, Allen Bradley, PC3000, etc
  • Familiar with P320, and other industrial advanced control systems, PLC's, DCSs, motor controls, etc
  • Complete I/O Checks, instrument configuration and required documentation for project
  • Facilitate the turnover of systems from erection to commissioning and from commissioning to the customer in accordance with current procedure/work instruction by arrangement with the COMM.
  • Hand over the commissioning, quality and feedback documentation and software (originals) with a document list to the COMM for compiling and release.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering
  • More than 6 yrs of experience in DCS commissioning
  • Be familiar with Alspa, and other industrial advanced control systems, PLC's, DCSs, motor controls, Instrumentation

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge in Digital systems architecture, digital logic and computer studies.
  • Familiar with thermal Power plant process and turbine governing
