DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced diesel mechanic to join our underground mining operation in Northern Manitoba (Snowlake).

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Engages with customer in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
  • Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.
  • Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced On-Site Technicians and/or Supervisor.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on Cummins products at a customer's location.
  • Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
  • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • Red seal certification (Heavy duty equipment or truck and transport) is mandatory.
  • Locally valid driving permit is mandatory.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Clean 5 year driver's abstract is mandatory for this position.

Experience:

  • Minimal level of workshop related experience required.
  • Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with Cummins products
  • High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience (optional)
  • Underground mining environment experience.
  • Customer service experience.

About the role:

  • The technician will be responsible for, maintaining and repairing underground mining equipment such as scoops, haul trucks, drills, and other Cummins powered equipment.
  • When not working on Cummins power engines, you will be responsible for assisting with in all other aspects of machine and equipment repair and planned maintenance.
  • This shift will be 14/14 rotating day shift and night shift: rotation is necessary.
  • Travel / service vehicle and tooling will be provided.
  • The successful candidate will be willing and able to work in an underground mining environment daily with the occasional above ground task.
  • Apartment accommodations will be provided, along with a daily meal allowance while on shift.
  • 5000$ sign on bonus is eligible for this position.
