DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented On Site Service Technician to join our team specializing in Services, Maintenance and Diagnostics for our Service Department in Solwezi, Zambia.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :
- Customer Engagement: By engaging customers courteously and professionally, you'll build strong relationships and ensure their needs are met promptly and efficiently.
- Efficient Repairs: Using specialized tools and following documented procedures, you'll diagnose and complete less complex repairs, ensuring high-quality service.
- Preventative Maintenance: Coaching customer employees on preventative maintenance and basic repairs will help them maintain their equipment better, reducing downtime.
- Issue Escalation: By escalating unresolved issues to more experienced technicians or supervisors, you'll ensure that complex problems are addressed promptly.
- Documentation: Completing required documentation accurately and timely will support warranty claims, quality control, and service tracking.
- Continuous Learning: By completing training in line with skill and business requirements, you'll stay updated with the latest techniques and tools, enhancing your effectiveness.
- Work Area Maintenance: Keeping your work area and tools clean and in proper operation will ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Adhering to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies and reporting any issues will contribute to a safe workplace for everyone.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Strong Diagnostic Skills: Ability to translate customer complaints into effective troubleshooting plans, using specialized tools and software to isolate and resolve issues, and documenting the process for future reference.
- Proficiency with Electronic Service Tools: Knowledge of the necessary hardware and software tools for service events, and the ability to interpret their results to determine the next steps for resolving issues.
- Understanding of Engine Systems: Capability to analyze and interpret the interactions of various electrical and mechanical systems, using tools and service publications to diagnose and repair efficiently.
- Expertise in Product Repair and Maintenance: Skills in repairing and maintaining mechanical/electrical products, following guidelines to ensure quality repairs, and performing inspections and replacements to minimize costs and restore products to their pre-failure condition.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Experience
- Apprentice Certified Power Generation or Engine Technician.
- Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution.
- Current relevant electrical certification (optional).
- Locally valid driving permit.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Basic level field service work experience.
- Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation or engine products.
- High Voltage/Low Voltage experience (optional).
- Customer service experience.
- Valid driver's license, valid passport, and valid EIZ certificate.
