We are looking for a talented Materials Engineering Technician to join our team for our facility in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Work will consist of(but not limited to):
  • Driving vehicles for testing cycles within a high level of accuracy
  • Maintain a logbook and billable hours sheet
  • Will need to learn AVL chassis dyno testing software
  • Will work with Calterm, PIBS, and scan tool software
  • Will be required to review testing data for accuracy
  • Will need to fuel vehicles and change parts as needed for testing
  • This position will be required to help support the other chassis dynos at OLY when needed.
  • Much of the work is time critical and a quick working pace is required to fulfill the testing needs.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automotive Technology or similar field strongly preferred
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
  • Previous Mechanical experience working on vehicles (passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, cars, trucks, etc.) preferred.
  • Previous experience with Diagnostics (diagnostic testing, scan tools, fault codes, performance issues, troubleshooting, electrical) related to engine and powertrain preferred.
  • Comfortable working with computers - Including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to work at a quick pace and has a sense of urgency.
  • Needs to be comfortable with driving vehicles in a test cell, while viewing a computer screen, multiple times a day to complete tests.
  • Ability to work four 10 hour shifts: M - TH, 7 AM - 5 PM
  • Pay starting at $31.50/HR or higher, based on experience level.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required with Department of Labor Certification OR Associates degree from an accredited program in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience OR Bachelors degree in a related field

Experience

  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
  • Department of Labor Certification OR four year experience/education requirement accomplished through either Bachelors degree in related field OR associates degree in related field and at least two years of relevant experience.
  • This position is for the Emissions Chassis Cell at OLY.

Work will consist of (but not limited to):
