We are looking for a talented Quality System Technician to join our team specializing in Quality for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fletcher, NC.

Job Summary:

Responsible of conducting internal audits (QMS, Mfg Process Audits, Product Audits) in an organization. Plan and lead trainings, root causea analysis and resolution of non-conformances. Demonstrate technical understanding of mfg processes, its risk analysis and control plans. Also conduct other QMS related activities needed to perform QMS processes.

Stay Updated on Standards: By maintaining knowledge of internal changes and external standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AIAG core tools, and CSR), you'll ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Conduct Effective Audits: Performing audits with a process-based approach and risk-based thinking will help identify and mitigate potential issues early.

Analyze and Report: Gathering and analyzing information related to the internal audit program and producing insightful reports will drive informed decision-making.

Manage Corrective Actions: Initiating, approving, and monitoring corrective actions associated with audit findings will help resolve issues and prevent recurrence.

Maintain Audit Documentation: Owning and maintaining the audit plan/schedule and records will ensure organized and efficient audit processes.

Train and Support: Providing training and support for AIAG Core Tools (FMEA, APQP, MSA, SPC, and PPAP) will enhance team competence and performance.

Root Cause Analysis: Leading Root Cause Analysis (3P5Y) for corrective actions and training stakeholders will foster a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

• Associate degree or equivalent business experience.

• Six Sigma Green Belt willing to work towards certification.

• AIAG core tools (APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, and MSA) trained

• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

• Demonstrated ability to perform process based and risk based audits.

• Initiated, approved and monitored corrective actions associated with audit findings.

• Planned, performed and led different QMS audits based upon IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.

• Performed training on AIAG core tools (APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC and FMEA)

• Performed Product Audits per applicable CSRs

• Led 3P-5Whys root cause analysis

• Provided support to documentation on the key processes per business quality manual

QUALIFICATIONS

Metallurgical Responsibilities:

• Control, adjust and monitor plant heat treating furnace parameters. Stabilize furnace parameters in emergency or idle conditions.

• Perform tooling changes for straightening and induction hardening equipment. Perform chemical testing of plant processes such as phosphate, wash, and rinse.

• Operate wet and dry abrasive cutting equipment to prepare daily metallurgical samples from the furnaces. Prepare metallurgical sample mounts for microscopic analysis.

• Operate and troubleshoot plant hardness equipment. Prepare samples for testing furnace carbon levels.

Quality Assurance Responsibilities:

Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process, and quality systems.

• Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming products until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

• Initiate, recommend or provide solutions though designated channels.

• Verify implementation of solutions.

• Perform dimensional quality audits, capability studies and gauge studies.

• Provide technical support for manufacturing including troubleshooting, training for proper use of gauging, specifications, first piece inspections and inspections of purchased components.

• Document and analyze results using statistical methods.

• Use quality tools/techniques to assist in root cause analysis and process improvements.

• Analyze and disposition nonconforming in-process product characteristics as authorized by the Quality Engineer.

• Index, file store and retrieve quality records.

• Evaluate and inspect customer returns for failure modes and root cause analysis.

Technical/ Professional Knowledge, Training and Skills:

• Functional experience with mechanical gauges.

• Awareness of statistical techniques and Statistical Process Control techniques.

• Proven organizational, communication, training and record keeping skills.

• Effective and experienced team player.

• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
