OCU-Technical-Mechanical Engineering Technician-3x12pm

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team for our location in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Builds, repairs and prepares articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment. Installs test article into test structure (test cell, table, rig, etc.). Performs tests in accordance with set test methods.
- Performs testing in accordance with established test procedures and methodology.
- Consistently provides accurate and reliable test results.
- Has an in-depth understanding of the function on of the test equipment used to perform test and the contribution of the test equipment to the validity of the test results.
- Configures and operates data acquisition systems; analyzes and reviews data for appropriateness.
- Has an in-depth understanding of the functioning of the product under test to assess the contribution of the product to the validity of the test results.
- Performs test stand installation, troubleshooting and setups and the upkeep and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Provides support/recommendations to engineering for equipment supplier evaluation and qualification, equipment and facility updates and instrument specification
- Performs other duties as required.
- Technicians will be required to do all mandatory trainings to remain compliant in their roles (HSE, CLC courses, etc.)
- Technicians will be required to communicate with internal customers via email and collaboration applications (i.e. MS Teams)
- Technicians will be expected to fulfill daily functional requirements via 5S methodology.
- Technicians will be expected to learn necessary fabrication skills.
- Technicians will be expected to review their time sheet every week.

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study.
- 4 year degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automotive Technology, or a a related field preferred.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Ability to work 3x12 Weekend Shift: 3 a week (Friday-Sunday), working 12 hours per shift (7:00pm-7:00am).
- Pay starting at $31.50/HR or higher, based on experience level + $2.00/HR Shift Differential.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Licenses, Certifications

- High school diploma, GED or equivalent required with Department of Labor Certification OR Associates degree from an accredited program in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience OR Bachelors degree in a related field.
Experience
- Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
- Department of Labor Certification OR four year experience/education requirement accomplished through either Bachelors degree in related field OR associates degree in related field and at least two years of relevant experience.
- This position is for the Emissions Measurement Laboratory
- Technicians will be required to do all mandatory training to remain compliant in their roles (HSE, CLC courses, etc.)
- Technicians will be required to communicate with internal customers via email and collaboration applications (i.e. MS Teams)
- Technicians will be expected to fulfill daily functional requirements via 5S methodology.
- Technicians will be expected to learn necessary fabrication skills.
- Technicians will be expected to review their time sheet every week.
- Technicians will be expected to purchase all necessary tools to work in the Laboratory.
