We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team for our location in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Builds, repairs and prepares articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Installs test article into test structure (test cell, table, rig, etc.).
  • Performs tests in accordance with set test methods.
  • Performs testing in accordance with established test procedures and methodology.
  • Consistently provides accurate and reliable test results.
  • Has an in-depth understanding of the function on of the test equipment used to perform test and the contribution of the test equipment to the validity of the test results.
  • Configures and operates data acquisition systems; analyzes and reviews data for appropriateness.
  • Has an in-depth understanding of the functioning of the product under test to assess the contribution of the product to the validity of the test results.
  • Performs test stand installation, troubleshooting and setups and the upkeep and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Provides support/recommendations to engineering for equipment supplier evaluation and qualification, equipment and facility updates and instrument specification.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
  • Technician will service Fuel Systems Engineering Labs and/or Rigs.
  • Strong mechanical and communication skills are required.
  • Data processing and precision measurement experience is preferred.
  • CREO, Windchill, Cyflex, Calterm, and Machining experience is preferred.
  • Hands-on Strong Mechanical background strongly preferred.
  • Background or understanding of Machining, Welding, or Metal Fabrication preferred
  • Ability to work 1st Shift: M-F, 7 AM - 3:30 PM (Flexible)
  • Pay starting at $31.50/HR or higher, based on experience level.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Experience

  • Department of Labor Certification OR four year experience/education requirement accomplished through either Bachelors degree in related field OR associates degree in related field and at least two years of relevant experience.
  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
  • Technician will service Fuel Systems Engineering Labs and/or Rigs.
  • Strong mechanical and communication skills are required.
  • Data processing and precision measurement experience is preferred.
  • CREO, Windchill, Cyflex, Calterm, and Machining experience is preferred.
