OCU-Technical-Mechanical Engineering Technician-1st Shift

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team for our location in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Builds, repairs and prepares articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment.
- Installs test article into test structure (test cell, table, rig, etc.).
- Performs tests in accordance with set test methods.
- Performs testing in accordance with established test procedures and methodology.
- Consistently provides accurate and reliable test results.
- Has an in-depth understanding of the function on of the test equipment used to perform test and the contribution of the test equipment to the validity of the test results.
- Configures and operates data acquisition systems; analyzes and reviews data for appropriateness.
- Has an in-depth understanding of the functioning of the product under test to assess the contribution of the product to the validity of the test results.
- Performs test stand installation, troubleshooting and setups and the upkeep and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Provides support/recommendations to engineering for equipment supplier evaluation and qualification, equipment and facility updates and instrument specification.
- Performs other duties as required.

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
- Technician will service Fuel Systems Engineering Labs and/or Rigs.
- Strong mechanical and communication skills are required.
- Data processing and precision measurement experience is preferred.
- CREO, Windchill, Cyflex, Calterm, and Machining experience is preferred.
- Hands-on Strong Mechanical background strongly preferred.
- Background or understanding of Machining, Welding, or Metal Fabrication preferred
- Ability to work 1st Shift: M-F, 7 AM - 3:30 PM (Flexible)
- Pay starting at $31.50/HR or higher, based on experience level.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Licenses, Certifications

- High school diploma, GED or equivalent required with Department of Labor Certification OR Associates degree from an accredited program in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience OR Bachelors degree in a related field.
Experience
- Department of Labor Certification OR four year experience/education requirement accomplished through either Bachelors degree in related field OR associates degree in related field and at least two years of relevant experience.
- Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
- Technician will service Fuel Systems Engineering Labs and/or Rigs.
- Strong mechanical and communication skills are required.
- Data processing and precision measurement experience is preferred.
- CREO, Windchill, Cyflex, Calterm, and Machining experience is preferred.
