DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Materials Science Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our CES ENGD Comp Testing Team in Marktheidenfeld, Bayern, Germany.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :

  • Enhancing Material Understanding: By conducting tasks in material characterization, selection, and failure analysis, you'll deepen the team's knowledge of materials.
  • Ensuring Lab Efficiency: Providing maintenance support will keep the lab running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Facilitating Accurate Measurements: Supporting specific laboratory measurements and equipment maintenance will ensure precise and reliable data.
  • Promoting Safety: Offering Material Lab related support on HSE topics will help maintain a safe working environment.
  • Contributing to Best Practices: Collaborating in the creation of FEP documents will standardize and improve lab practices.
  • Supporting Development and Production: Providing consultation on development and production topics will drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Improving Communication: Communicating with suppliers and other stakeholders will streamline processes and enhance collaboration.
  • Leveraging Expertise: Utilizing your knowledge in metallurgical testing techniques and microstructure analysis will provide valuable insights and recommendations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Strong Bilingual Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with customers and requesters in both German and English.
  • Proficiency in Metallographic Sample Preparation: Skills in cutting, embedding, grinding/polishing, and etching samples as needed.
  • Expertise in Lab Equipment and Analysis Methods: Experience with established analysis methods and lab equipment such as FTIR, SEM/EDX, digital microscopes, hardness testers, and sample preparation tools.
  • Report Writing Skills: Ability to create comprehensive summary reports that include assessments and recommendations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Experience:

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
  • Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools is also preferred.
