DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate for this role will have significant assembly and test experience, including assembly system start-up and debugging. They will possess deep technical knowledge of product requirements and demonstrate the ability to innovate manufacturing solutions, transitioning from prototype to mature processes. The candidate will have a proven ability to identify issues, lead root cause investigations, develop fault trees, and collate data from multiple sources to statistically analyze information and confirm or reject hypotheses. They will be skilled in using Advanced Measurement System Analysis methods to quantify and minimize uncertainty, delivering cost-effective and capable test systems. Additionally, the ideal candidate will excel in teaching, mentoring, and coaching, with hands-on experience in assembly and test equipment. They will demonstrate the ability to work across cultures, ensure sound decision-making, and develop manufacturing strategies aligned with the CCS plan.

In this role you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing technology in diverse work situations.
  • Integrate advanced manufacturing solutions to ensure safety, cost-efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Develop and lead large or complex projects.
  • Drive standardization in manufacturing processes.
  • Manage projects in a cross-functional environment, leading matrixed and dotted line teams.
  • Coach and mentor manufacturing personnel.
  • Serve as the technical expert for one or more manufacturing disciplines.
  • Advise and recommend long-term resolutions to systemic manufacturing problems.
  • Collaborate on and solve complex manufacturing issues, providing solutions across the Cummins network.
  • Interface and provide leadership with indirect suppliers.

Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Extensive relevant work experience required, including manufacturing or manufacturing plant experience, and leadership of a large project or multiple projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Significant assembly and test experience including assembly system start-up and debugging experience
  • Deep technical knowledge of product technical requirements and demonstrate the ability to innovate manufacturing solutions in a structured path from prototype to mature process
  • Proven ability to identify issues, lead root cause investigations, develop fault trees, collate data from multiple sources & statistically analyze information to confirm or reject a hypothesis
  • Ability to use Advanced Measurement System Analysis methods to quantify and minimize uncertainty to deliver capable test systems that are cost effective
  • Ideal candidate will excel in teaching, mentoring, coaching and have hands-on experience with assembly and test equipment. Demonstrated ability to work across cultures and ensure sound decision making and develop manufacturing strategies that are aligned to the CCS plan.
