On-site: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Bowling Green ASSY on a full-time basis.
The Role:
The career level Manufacturing Engineer able to work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision. Skilled in equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for the production of parts. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where creativity and initiative is exercised as well as independent judgment.

What You'll Do:
- SORs and project management for tools, stations or specific technologies
- Supervising a group of Skilled employees to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and processes.
- Consistently administer National and Local Agreement between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.
- Utilize independent judgment within the limits of Global Manufacturing Systems, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).
- Typically part of a larger effort or project:
- manufacturing process definition
- sequence of operations
- human factors consideration
- efficient material flow
- Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts
- Provide technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources
- Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Associate's Degree required
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience in technical troubleshooting
- Must be willing to rotate shifts (1st and 2nd Production Shifts)
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree in Technical Field
- Ability to troubleshoot using PLCs (Allen-Bradley, ect), Siemens
- Direct exposure to manufacturing maintenance processes
- Experience working with conveyors
- Ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints
- Experience leading a team in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of safety systems such as fall-hazard awareness, lock-out tag-out procedures
