DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Machinist to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Rocky Mount, NC.
Job Summary:
As part of a formal skilled trades training program, assists site Machinist skilled trades to learn and develop tool room skills in a manufacturing environment under direct guidance. Apprentice will be required to successfully complete and document specified classes and a minimum quantity of on the job training hours. Learns and understand the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
• High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
• Minimal or no work experience required.
QUALIFICATIONS
• This is an apprenticeship position that will require completion of the RMEP Tool Maker Apprenticeship position.
• Relevant experience is preferred.
• This role requires conventional and CNC machining experience. EDM experience will be a plus.
• Experience setting up and operating various manual and computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools, like lathes, mills, and grinders.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience in precisely measuring and inspecting parts using calipers, micrometers, and other metrology tools, to produce high-quality machined components according to specified tolerances.
• The ability and focus to adhere to safety protocols and quality standards.
• This position often requires strong mathematical skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine malfunctions, as well as knowledge of speeds, feeds, and tooling geometry.
