We are looking for a talented IT Operations Support Specialist to join our team specializing in Systems/Information Technology for our Cummins Global Desktop in Nuremberg, Germany.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensuring System Availability: By performing routine maintenance and monitoring system performance, you'll ensure that systems are always available and running smoothly for end users.
  • Enhancing System Efficiency: Through customizations and upgrades, you'll optimize systems to work more efficiently, improving overall productivity.
  • Supporting New Employees: By setting up technology and system access for new employees, you'll help them get up to speed quickly, contributing to a smooth onboarding process.
  • Resolving Technical Issues: Your ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues will minimize downtime and keep operations running seamlessly.
  • Disaster Recovery Preparedness: By ensuring system disaster recovery, you'll protect the organization from data loss and ensure business continuity.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Regularly performing preventative maintenance on IT systems and networks will help prevent issues before they arise, ensuring long-term system health.
  • Accuracy and Reliability: Monitoring system performance and accuracy will ensure that data and operations are reliable, supporting informed decision-making.
  • Root-Cause Analysis: Conducting root-cause analysis to identify and address underlying issues will lead to more permanent solutions, reducing recurring problems.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Completed apprenticeship, college, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required.
  • A background in an IT support function.

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Technical Proficiency: A solid understanding of Active Directory, SCCM, PC/Server hardware, printing, basic networking, and manufacturing PCs. This technical knowledge is crucial for troubleshooting, system maintenance, and supporting various IT service lines.
  • Customer-Facing Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, and a willingness to help are essential. You'll be interfacing with customers, managing their demands, and guiding them to the correct tools and processes for IT requests.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: The ability to travel for operational or project-related activities, sometimes at short notice, and to manage competing priorities across multiple service lines. Being adaptable to both direct instructions and autonomous work is key.
  • Process Adherence and Problem-Solving: Following established processes for access management, incident management, and change management. Your ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently while maintaining Cummins standards will ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
