DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Industrial Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing in Fridley, MN .

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :

  • Standardization : Develop and implement standard work methods to enhance consistency and efficiency across production lines.
  • Safety and Ergonomics : Design workstations that prioritize safety and ergonomic principles, reducing the risk of injury and improving worker comfort.
  • Efficiency : Optimize plant layouts to streamline workflows and minimize waste, leading to more efficient production processes.
  • Cost Analysis : Conduct thorough cost analyses to inform make vs. buy decisions, helping the company save money and allocate resources effectively.
  • System Integration : Design and improve integrated systems that effectively utilize people, materials, information, equipment, and energy, enhancing overall productivity.
  • Innovation : Introduce innovative solutions to improve manufacturing processes and administrative systems, driving continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that new designs and improvements align with overall business goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Communicate Effectively : Develop and deliver clear, multi-mode communications tailored to the unique needs of different audiences, ensuring everyone understands the message.
  • Apply Ergonomic Fundamentals : Utilize Cummins ergonomic standards and tools to design workstations that minimize ergonomic risks and enhance employee comfort and safety.
  • Champion Health and Safety : Model proactive health and safety behaviors, identify and report hazards, and participate in initiatives to foster a culture of safety and contribute to an injury-free workplace.
  • Balance Production Lines : Evaluate and optimize work activities to ensure efficient distribution of tasks, meeting customer demands while improving manufacturing processes.
  • Leverage Manufacturing Analysis Led Design : Use digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes, making data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvements before implementing changes.
  • Demonstrate Manufacturing Knowledge : Implement changes in processes, equipment, and applications effectively to meet functional needs and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Optimize Process Layouts : Design or modify manufacturing processes by considering equipment, human interfaces, production steps, and facility requirements to reduce time and waste.
  • Measure and Improve Work Processes : Break down processes into detailed steps to identify and reduce waste, redistribute work content, and optimize process flows.
  • Value Differences : Recognize and appreciate the value of diverse perspectives and cultures, fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate Effectively : Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to achieve shared objectives.
  • Drive Continuous Process Improvement : Identify areas for improvement and implement methodologies to reduce costs and enhance quality in manufacturing processes.
  • Interpret Drawings Accurately : Integrate product design and manufacturing equipment drawings to develop optimal manufacturing processes that meet design specifications.
  • Apply Industrial Engineering Knowledge : Use comprehensive and quantitative analysis to develop or improve manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Basic level of relevant work experience required.

Additional Information:

  • Ability to work ON SITE everyday out of the Fridley MN plant
