DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Health, Safety and Environmental Technician - Level III to join our team specializing in Health and Safety for our Cummins Inc. facility in Memphis, TN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Enhancing Safety Culture : By building an understanding of and applying HSE culture, you ensure it becomes integral to all processes, promoting a safer work environment.
- Identifying and Addressing Gaps : You will determine gaps within corporate HSE initiatives and local policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, helping to align and improve them.
- Incident Reporting and Investigation : Actively participating in and leading incident investigations and reporting will help identify root causes and prevent future occurrences.
- Supporting HSE Systems : Assisting in the analysis, review, and sustainability of Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems ensures continuous improvement and compliance.
- Implementing Corrective Actions : Supporting the closure of corrective and preventive actions will help mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety.
- Creating HSE Awareness : Effective communication to create HSE awareness among employees will foster a proactive safety culture.
- Participating in Inspections and Audits : Your involvement in HSE inspection and audit programs will help identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Supporting Environmental Management : By supporting environmental management activities and initiatives, you will contribute to the organization's sustainability goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:

- Optimizing Work Processes : Continuously seek ways to improve processes, ensuring they are efficient and effective. This will help you manage your tasks better and contribute to overall productivity.
- Health and Safety Fundamentals : Model proactive health and safety behaviors. Identify, report, and participate in actions to improve health and safety, fostering an interdependent culture and contributing to an injury-free workplace.
- Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis : Conduct thorough and evidence-based investigations of HSE incidents. Accurately identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- HSE Management Systems : Apply international standards practically within the operating environment. This will help you achieve and maintain an effective management system and secure external certifications.
- Risk Assessment : Evaluate hazards in the work environment using hazard identification and risk assessment techniques. Prioritize risks and select control measures to reduce them as low as reasonably practicable.
- Effective Communication : Communicate clearly and effectively to create HSE awareness among employees. This will help in building a proactive safety culture and ensuring everyone is informed and engaged.
- Continuous Learning and Development : Stay updated with the latest HSE practices and regulations. Participate in training and personal development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
A two year University degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Management, Sustainability or related field preferred.
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience in health, safety and environment.
QUALIFICATIONS

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience in Health and Safety.
Excellent communication skills needed with ability to interact within all levels of the Organization (local and Corporate) and external stakeholders with a focus on customer service.
Solid knowledge of safety protocols, proficiency in Microsoft applications preferred.
Ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environment, multi-task, take ownership and drive a project/task effectively and efficiently
Compensation:
