DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
The Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Technician provides technical support on health, safety, and environmental matters to production and site personnel. Reporting to the site HSE leader, the technician assists in the implementation and sustainability of Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Plan :Maintain knowledge and skills required to perform HSE duties, ensuring adherence to corporate initiatives, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment :Assist in the implementation and upkeep of hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation processes, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are taken.
- Incident Reporting & Investigation :Support the reporting of work-related injuries, illnesses, and hazards, and participate in the investigation process to ensure root cause analysis and resolution.
- Regulatory & Internal Compliance :Assist in maintaining compliance with HSE regulatory requirements and internal standards, including managing regulatory submissions (e.g., MPCB-CTO, CTE) and tracking consents.
- HSE Audits & Inspections :Participate in site HSE inspections, audits, and internal compliance programs, ensuring non-conformance is addressed and quality standards are met.
- HSE Communication & Awareness :Communicate safety information effectively to create awareness across the organization and participate in HSE initiatives (e.g., Safety Week, Environment Day) to drive continuous improvement.
- Contractor Safety Management :Manage on-site contractor safety programs, including contractor engagement, safety files, inductions, and safety rounds.
- Continuous Improvement :Collaborate with teams to improve safety processes, quality standards, and employee development, contributing to a safer workplace.
- Environmental Management :Participate in environmental initiatives and support sustainable practices, including the management of sewage treatment plant (STP) operations and supplier inspections.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- Required : High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred : College or university degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Management, or Sustainability.
Experience:
- Some work experience or intermediate knowledge in HSE obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

Skills/Knowledge:
- HSE Culture : Apply HSE culture in both routine and non-routine activities.
- Regulatory Compliance : Experience with regulatory submissions (e.g., MPCB-CTO, CTE) and internal HSE compliance tracking.
- Hazard Reporting : Conduct regular rounds to identify unsafe conditions or acts.
- Risk Assessment : Participate in updating and maintaining risk assessments.
- Incident Investigation : Report incidents, assist in COMET investigations, and support corrective actions.
- HSE Inspections & Audits : Participate in site inspections and audits.
- Safety Communication : Effectively create safety awareness through communication.
- Contractor Safety Management : Oversee contractor safety programs and processes.
- Continuous Improvement : Proactively engage in HSE improvements.
- STP Operations : Familiar with sewage treatment plant (STP) management.
- PPE Knowledge : Knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE) matrices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Training & Recordkeeping : Conduct safety training and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Supplier Connectivity : Coordinate with suppliers for environmental inspections and safety equipment checks.
