DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Health, Safety, and Environment Risk Support Practitioner to join our team specializing in HSE for our Global Logistics business.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Hands-On Support : By implementing health, safety, and environmental programs at regional sites, you'll help achieve regional objectives and targets.
- Global Collaboration : Representing the region in global teams, you'll drive continuous improvement through the development of programs, policies, and procedures.
- Coaching and Development : Coaching sites on hazard and risk controls, you'll enhance safety and sustainability through procedures, engineering controls, and awareness programs.
- Problem Solving : Addressing non-routine and common health, safety, and sustainability issues, you'll drive standardization and best practices across the region.
- Mentorship : By coaching and mentoring local site resources, you'll identify opportunities for their growth and professional development.
- Incident Investigation : Providing hands-on support for local incident investigations, you'll ensure compliance with reporting obligations and improve safety outcomes.
- Supplier Management : Leading the management and evaluation of regional suppliers and consultants, you'll ensure high standards and effective partnerships.
- Regional Travel : Routinely traveling to sites, you'll manage all aspects of travel, ensuring effective support and oversight across the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis : Conduct thorough, evidence-based investigations of health, safety, and environmental incidents to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions, ensuring accurate reporting and preventing recurrence.
- Implementation of Risk Controls : Utilize the hierarchy of controls to select and implement sustainable risk control measures, reducing overall risks to protect people and maintain safety.
- Influencing HSE Culture : Champion positive health and safety behaviors by influencing leaders and employees, fostering a culture that prioritizes health, safety, and environmental well-being.
- Risk Assessment : Apply hazard identification and risk assessment techniques to evaluate and prioritize risks, enabling the selection of control measures that minimize risks to the lowest practicable level.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or university equivalent required.
- Health and Safety and/or Environmental degree preferred.
Experience:
- Significant relevant HSE experience required. 5-7 years of experience. Previous experience working across various countries within the region preferred. Progress toward professional certification, preferred.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Understands, applies and coaches others on locally applicable laws, regulations, standards, codes, products, methods and practices related to warehouse Health, Safety and Environment, providing guidance as appropriate.
- Collaborates with, builds, and maintains internal relationships with sites and cross-functional teams on proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement of HSE programs, supporting compliance to Cummins policies and procedures and local programs to achieve business goals.
- Establishes short-term regional strategy and objectives and targets for sites; contributes to the development of long-term strategy.
- This role primarily supports the North America Regional Distribution Centers (Atlanta, Indianapolis, Harrisburg, Dallas, Portland) and requires travel to support the sites.
- Support sites in all injury case management activities
- Must be located in the continental USA, ideally located in Atlanta or Dallas.
- May need to support other North America logistics sites.
