DESCRIPTION

Manage, develop and implement complex health, safety, and environmental programs in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Promote worksite safety by applying knowledge of industrial processes and industrial health and safety laws. Drive a positive health, safety, and environmental culture to foster continual improvements, leading programs, policies, and procedures and monitoring performance to ensure compliance with internal requirements, applicable health, safety and environmental regulations and industry standards. Lead and interpret results from hazard identification, environmental aspect identification and implement risk control methods in order to protect individuals by reducing overall risks to as low as reasonably practicable. Recommend procedures for detection, prevention, and elimination of physical, chemical or other product hazards. Drive improvements to health, safety and environmental performance metrics, and identify and prioritize projects using a risk-based and data-driven approach. Lead cross-functional teams to define and implement innovative solutions to eliminate or reduce risk. Lead Health, Safety, and Environmental projects and direct project teams to establish project performance goals. Interpret and apply global health, safety, and environmental standards through practical application within the operating environment to achieve and maintain an effective management system and external certification. Review employee safety programs and interpret safety regulations. Measure and evaluate health, safety, and environment performance by collecting and analyzing data and creating key performance indicators to evaluate performance trends, deliver improvement goals and objectives, inform strategy, and protect employees and the environment. Organize customer requirements utilizing Voice of the Customer to monitor and track project/program milestones and deliverables. Review trends, solve problems and improve decision-making to enhance business growth using Data Analytics. Utilize Root Cause Analysis to examine HSE incidents by completing quality, evidence-based investigations resulting in effective corrective actions, accurate reporting and avoiding repeated incidents.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Positions require a Master's degree in Environmental Science or Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Health & Safety Environmental Analyst, Project Management Officer or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience as a Health & Safety Environmental Analyst, Project Management Officer or related position. Experience to include: Manage cross-functional teams; Environmental and safety compliance; Implementation of risk controls to eliminate or reduce risk; Drive improvements to health, safety and environmental performance metrics; Measurement and evaluation of health, safety, and environment performance; Develop key performance indicators; Voice of the Customer; Data Analytics; Root Cause Analysis.
