We are looking for a talented PCRA Functional Safety Compliance Manager to join our team specializing in Engineering in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Problem Resolution : Investigate and resolve electronic application and systems issues, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.
- Process Improvement : Develop and enhance processes like system specification, modeling, simulation, and calibration to improve efficiency and accuracy.

- Design and Testing : Make critical decisions in electronic and electrical system design, calibration, and testing to ensure high-quality performance.
- Mentorship : Review the work of less-experienced team members, providing guidance to ensure robust and efficient designs.
- Leadership : Lead complex problem resolution efforts and drive improvements in work processes across global business units.
- Team Coordination : Direct and coordinate technical project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring project success.
- Expertise Development : Act as a multi-competency specialist, mentoring others and developing local talent to build a strong technical team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Master Mechatronics Systems : Understand and specify electronic hardware and interconnections that measure and control systems, applying them effectively in Cummins' products.
- Optimize Machine Integration : Combine various parts or sub-systems to achieve desired outputs, ensuring performance, reliability, cost, and quality through standard tools and best practices.
- Utilize Modeling and Simulation : Impact product design decisions by using computational tools and methods to predict product capabilities at various levels.
- Solve Product Problems : Implement robust, data-based solutions to protect customers, determine assignable causes, and prevent problem recurrence.
- Engineer System Requirements : Translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements, establish acceptance criteria, and manage requirements throughout the system lifecycle.
- Apply Systems Thinking : Define and analyze the system of interest, predict its behavior, and devise modifications to achieve desired effects.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
- Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Prior Technical Specialist/Specialist Engineering equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving, quality decision making and providing technical direction and leadership to a project team(s).
- Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support new engine related Pre-Program Planning (PPP) projects to ensure that we build robust long-term product strategies that aim to cover product gaps and market needs.
- Develops and maintains process control frameworks to standardize marketing workflow for Americas Marketing Team
- Support Long-Term Portfolio Strategy Creation and maintenance for Standby Applications Support segment marketing Leads/specialists to ensure relevant the product strategies are executed.
- Support PowerGen Market Positions (PGMP) effort to create aligned market positions for Americas Standby Applications market.
- Be accountable for functional safety compliance for Cummins projects across all BUs and ABOs. This means having visibility to all projects, ensuring all projects have safety managers and safety plans, and confirming safety case is complete and correct.
- Provide guidance to BU and ABO projects about functional safety compliance requirements.
- Participate as independent reviewer in functional safety confirmation reviews.
- Attend and support functional safety compliance through forums such as ESPA, ECAR, and C-reviews.
- Participate in functional safety related industry groups that will benefit Cummins.
