Description for Candidates
We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Engine Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business (Sioux Falls, SD,).
$5000 sign on bonus
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop.
- Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work.
- Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
- Completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products.

RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Proficient knowledge in troubleshooting Cummins electrical and aftertreatment using Cummins Insite.
- Proficient work experience in replacing internal components (head, pistons, liners, etc.).
- Embrace the Cummins values and use them daily.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude that contributes to the team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
DOT
- A current valid CDL is required for this role.
- This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free of major violations
- This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
- Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age "complement of personal and professional.
Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
