DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Mechanic - Workshop to join our team in Tamworth.

We are looking for a talented Field Service Mechanic to join our high performing field service team. The Gunnedah Basin mining region is home to over 170 Cummins High Horsepower engines , powering a range of mining equipment. And you could be the first responder to fix and repair these engines.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • First responder to breakdown events
  • Fleet maintenance
  • Capturing engine data
  • Fault diagnostics
  • Diverse range engine repairs, both major and minor
  • Working autonomously as well as having the ability to work in a great team environment
  • Work with other major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
  • The face of Cummins at the customer site

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Field service experience preferred coupled with heavy duty engine experience
  • Relevant trade qualification (Heavy Diesel preferred but not necessary)
  • Strong engine diagnostic experience
  • The ability to work autonomously/remotely for extended periods
  • A genuine commitment to workplace safety
  • A valid driver's license
  • Good interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Locally valid driving permit
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Basic level field service work experience
  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
  • Customer service experience
