DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Electronics Engineering Technician - Level III to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Inc. facility in Stoughton, WI.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Advanced Analytical Skills : Utilize your advanced skills and knowledge to perform detailed analyses using electronic engineering tools and standard instruments, positively impacting the organization's performance.
  • Data Interpretation and Documentation : Acquire, interpret, and document technical results to support production, engineering, quality, and manufacturing groups, ensuring accurate and reliable data.
  • Problem Solving : Apply your expertise to solve complex problems, compile and analyze performance data, and report progress to management, driving continuous improvement.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting : Perform routine and complex maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on instruments and equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Project Coordination : Coordinate programs by planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking, making significant decisions on workflow and priorities, and providing effective technical and project leadership.
  • Quality and Improvement Initiatives : Participate in maintaining quality procedures and work instructions, and engage in improvement projects, demonstrating adaptability and responsiveness to changing work needs.
  • Technical Presentations and Audits : Develop and deliver technical presentations to engineers, customers, and suppliers, and participate in self- and team-audits and associated corrective actions, ensuring continuous quality and compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Master Data Acquisition : Prepare samples, verify equipment calibration, and perform tests according to approved procedures. This ensures that the data you collect is reliable and can be trusted by engineers and customers.
  • Excel in Data Reporting : Organize and present testing methods, instrument settings, data, and analysis clearly. This helps engineers and customers understand the results and make accurate conclusions and recommendations.
  • Collaborate Efficiently : Build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. Effective teamwork is crucial for achieving common goals and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Ensure Accurate Data Handling : Pay attention to detail in preparing and handling data to maintain its integrity and reliability throughout the testing and reporting process.
  • Communicate Clearly : Develop clear and concise documentation and communication skills to convey complex technical information effectively to various stakeholders.
  • Adapt and Learn : Stay flexible and open to continuous learning and improvement. Embrace new challenges and be willing to undertake new tasks to enhance your skills and contribute to the team's success.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.

Regionally applicable certification or two-year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

Experience with troubleshooting and interaction with common Industrial Voltages: +5VDC/+12VDC/+24VDC, 120vac, 240vac 3phase, 480vac 3 phase circuits.

Mechanical Aptitude and Metal Working Skills for Panel Building/modifying (e.g. detailing layout, perform: Enclosure cutouts, drilling, tapping, mounting, organized orderly Wiring).

Interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications for industrial equipment.

Apply knowledge of electricity, electronics, and electric motors and mechanics.

Document technical information through descriptive writing, sketches/diagrams, mathematical expression, computation, and graphs.

Practice industry recognized safety practices and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment in an industrial operating environment.

Experience with Arc Flash and LOTO practices preferred.
