DESCRIPTION
This product-focused position tailors electronic and electrical systems for Cummins products. The role involves translating product requirements into hardware and software technical specifications, which control the operation of Cummins' products in a variety of customer applications. Responsibilities include configuring, tuning, and conducting comprehensive validation testing of fully integrated hardware and software systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate electronic application and systems problems, understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate actions, and document results.
- Apply and improve electronic application and systems development processes and tools, including system specification, modeling, simulation, calibration, Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R), and troubleshooting.
- Utilize tools for simulation, calibration, and product lifecycle maintenance.
- Gather input from customers, technical and product teams, manufacturing engineers, supplier partners, and other stakeholders to provide recommendations for quality product decisions.
- Make decisions regarding electronic and electrical system design, requirements, calibration, and testing to impact subsystem and feature-class performance.
- Review the work of less-experienced developers and testers to ensure robust, reusable, and efficient designs.
- Lead smaller projects or own complex components, systems, or services with greater elements of ambiguity, ensuring accountability to the project team.
- Independently execute established work processes while developing product or technology knowledge.
- Coordinate and direct work among technicians and temporary employees, transferring knowledge to less-experienced engineers.
- Provide guidance and support to influence technical direction within project teams.
- Operate as a recognized specialist in specific disciplines or product areas within the immediate team.
