Electronic Systems Product Engineer

DESCRIPTION

This entry-level/early career product-focused position is responsible for tailoring electronic and electrical systems for Cummins products. The role involves translating product requirements into hardware and software technical requirements to control the operation of Cummins products across diverse customer applications. The engineer will also configure (tune) and complete comprehensive validation testing of fully integrated hardware and software systems.

This position specifically focuses on cyber security/tools architect work for compliance with PSBU products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate electronic application and systems issues, analyze root causes, recommend actions, and document results with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Apply and support improvements in electronic application and systems development processes and tools. This includes system specification, modeling, calibration, Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R), and troubleshooting.
  • Utilize tools for simulation, calibration, and product lifecycle maintenance.
  • Collaborate with customers, technical teams, manufacturing engineers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to provide recommendations for quality product decisions.
  • Make decisions regarding electronic and electrical system design, calibration, and testing that affect the quality and performance of specific calibrated features or components.
  • Take ownership of moderately complex problem resolutions for products, systems, subsystems, or services.
  • Provide independent execution of established processes and systems while continuing to develop product knowledge.
  • Contribute to team goals, coordinate work with technicians or temporary employees, and demonstrate growing proficiency in technical areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience : Entry-level/early career professional. Candidates with experience in internships, co-ops, or early career roles in relevant technical disciplines will be preferred.
  • Technical Skills : Knowledge of MS Office tools, cyber security compliance for PSBU products, and relevant software/hardware systems are preferred.

  • Machine Integration and Optimization - Combines subsystems to achieve optimal customer outcomes and ensures performance, reliability, cost, and quality through technical analysis.

  • Product Function Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis - Uses computational tools to impact design decisions and system capability assessments.

  • Product Verification and Validation Management - Develops validation plans and assesses test results to verify and validate product capabilities.
  • System Requirements Engineering - Translates stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements, tracking their status through the lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS

Key Skills:

  • Embedded software development using C/C++ and device driver development for various platforms, including Linux.
  • System software testing skills, system composer, and Simulink approach for development.Cybersecurity experience w.r.t design, development and testing for RTOS, Linux platform and network, communication, interface within or outside device will be much beneficial skills.
  • Experience of using Ethernet, CAN,Modbus,Modbus TCP/IP not AutoSar

Qualifications:

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an appropriate STEM field is required.
  • Certifications : Post-graduate degree (Master's) may be required for specific roles.
