The Opportunity

The VP, Head Latin America & Partner Business for CSL Behring is a critical and strategic leadership role in the development and delivery of CSL Behring's strategy and business results. Assuming a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the go-to-market model for Latin America and selected global partner businesses, reporting to the SVP Head of International Commercial of CSL Behring, this position involves steering a multifaceted organization with established affiliates and partner business.

The overarching responsibility is to ensure the seamless execution of the cross-functional business strategy, directing the affiliate and partner business teams as well as excipient business globally to meet short and long-term business objectives, comply with regulations and protect the group's public reputation. The role oversees partnering with other senior leaders to ensure strategies align with overall corporate objectives, managing client relationships, and identifying new growth opportunities. The Leadership will be critical in achieving revenue targets, expanding market share, and ensuring operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Revenue Delivery
  • Develop and lead the strategic direction and execution for a $800+ million business across Latin America and Partner Business segments
  • Identify market trends, competitive landscapes, and growth opportunities.
  • Ensure that General Managers within the cluster deliver profitable, sustainable growth while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and business ethics.

Partner Business Strategy and Oversight:

A. Oversee the development and execution of strategic initiatives for the Partner Business, with a focus on both distributors and excipients.

  • i. Global Distributor Management:
  • Develop and implement a harmonized, global strategy for managing distributors across different regions.
  • Standardize processes and establish clear guidelines to drive efficiency, ensure compliance, and maximize profitability.
  • Monitor distributor performance and work closely with regional leaders to optimize partnerships and identify growth opportunities.

  • ii. Excipient Business Oversight:
  • Manage the excipient business by overseeing existing operations and identifying new opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure strong margin delivery and profitable growth within this smaller yet significant component of the Partner Business.

  • iii. Market Expansion & Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for market expansion and business development within the Latin American and Partner Business segments.
  • Lead negotiations and develop partnerships that align with the company's strategic goals and enhance its market position.

B. Ensure that all partner business activities are aligned with the broader corporate objectives and contribute to overall company value generation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate closely with other Cluster Leads, other cross-functional teams (Medical, Market Access, Marketing), Enabling functions and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and share best practices across the organization.
  • Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance communication within the cluster.

Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Ensure that all business activities within the cluster adhere to regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
  • Proactively manage risks associated with both the Latin America and Partner Business segments, and ensure robust controls are in place.

People Leadership & Development:
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and development opportunities to General Managers and other direct reports within the cluster.
  • Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement across the team.
  • Build and lead a high-performing commercial team.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture.

Financial Management & Reporting:
  • Monitor and manage the financial performance of the cluster, ensuring that revenue and profitability targets are met or exceeded.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on the performance, challenges, and opportunities within the cluster.

Essential Qualifications/Experience:
  • Bachelor or Master degree in a scientific or business field
  • Minimum of 15 years' + healthcare / pharmaceutical/ biotherapeutics industry experience
  • General management skills with strong financial and commercial background; Significant experience in strategic and tactical/brand marketing and sales management, manufacturing/supply and understanding of cost structures.
  • Thorough knowledge of products and all supported therapy areas
  • Strong interpersonal skills to quickly build rapport and credibility with CSL leaders and key external stakeholders.
  • Multiple years' experience leading and managing teams in an international environment and with matrixed, cross-functional teams
  • Commercial Acumen with a clear Customer Focus, ability to modify strategy plans according to market dynamics and internal changing requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities
  • Familiarity with global regulations and cultural nuances
  • Strong Change and Leadership skills
