Senior Quality Inspector

Responsible for the statistical sampling and assessment of the manufacturing process. Samples are collected at various stages of the operation and tested for compliance to product specifications. In addition, this position is responsible for sampling and testing incoming components and packaging materials. Raw material chemicals are examined and samples for laboratory analysis.

1 Follow a statistical sampling plan to assess product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
2 Following completion of chemistry, microbiology and physical testing of chemicals and components, complete the raw material records and release the chemical/component lots.
3 May be called on to represent the Quality inspection function on project teams. Works cross functionally with other groups to assess product and packaging according to set inspection criteria.

4 Completes paperwork for problem materials and ensures that the material is appropriately labels. Make certain that problem material has been evaluated and that the response/correction adequately addresses the defect.
5 Physical testing of all components, to include dimensional testing, weight and appearance as required.
6 Promptly and accurately, document findings on appropriate batch documents. Investigate and report discrepancies. Sample incoming raw material chemicals and components.
7 Responsible for all on-line quality inspections.
8 Responsible for finished product retain sample program. Maintain retained sample files. Manage annual inspection of retained samples.
9 Responsible for OJT training of new inspectors.
10 Responsible for PIR investigations. Investigates and responds to plant PIRs. Examine returned product, determine root cause and provide the plant response.
11 Responsible for real-time review of critical in-process steps, and providing immediate notification to manufacturing personnel (e.g. supervisors/operators) regarding facility/process /equipment documentation issues.
12 Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education:

High School diploma is required

Experience:
- One (1) year previous experience whether in inspection or working in a regulated environment is
required
- Computer experience using Microsoft Word, Excel or similar programs is required

- Performs work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated written communication skills

- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

- Ability to apply common sense in performing job
- Ability to complete routine forms or conduct routine oral communications
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and to record, balance and check results for accuracy
- Occasionally exposed to hazardous chemicals
- Standing constantly up to 100% of the time
- Walking, bending, and twisting frequently up to 75% of the time
- Frequently required to wear personal protective equipment
- Occasionally exposed to blood borne pathogens
