The Opportunity

As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will spearhead the implementation of the local medical plan for our innovative first-in-class HAE treatment Garadacimab. Your role will be instrumental in executing Medical Affairs strategies and tactics on a local level in Germany.

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based expert on CSL HAE portfolio with a deep understanding of rare diseases, therapeutic assets, and clinical studies, responsible for engagement with medical stakeholders at centers across Germany.

The MSL provides fair, balanced, objective, scientific information and education to health care professionals (HCPs) on a peer-to-peer basis and to internal partners, as required by scientific and business needs. You will represent and reflect CSL values as a science-driven, patient-centric organization.

The MSL is critical in understanding the management of diseases of interest, collecting medical insights, mapping the patient journey, identifying unmet medical needs, data gaps, and areas of collaboration.

The Role

As a Medical Science Liaison at CSL Behring, you will:

  • Maintain the highest scientific and medical expertise of all relevant diseases and assets; be acknowledged internally and externally as an expert.
  • Identify and cultivate productive relationships and collaborations with all relevant stakeholders, preferably Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and professional organizations in the country.
  • Drive and contribute to clinical projects, studies, and initiatives to advance medical knowledge and support successful product launches.
  • Act as the first point of contact regarding Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS).
  • Deliver high quality scientific/medical education in a variety of settings, including details of disease, clinical studies, and assets.
  • Support market access activities and any healthcare policy efforts across the country.
  • Scientific/medical exchange with relevant stakeholders, and insight generation to inform future strategies and tactics.
  • Coordinate the timely and appropriate response to internal and external Medical Information enquires.
  • Cross-functional collaboration.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Advanced degree in a medical or life science field (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent) is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical Industry and/or as a Medical Science Liaison or similar field-based medical affairs role, preferably in rare diseases.
  • Experience in KOL engagement and development is mandatory.
  • Experience in HAE/rare diseases is of advantage.
  • Deep understanding of clinical research, scientific literature, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in German and English (spoken and written).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build and maintain relationships with KOLs and other external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to extensive travel across the country.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, well-organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Reporting Relationships

This position reports to the Medical Lead Immunology & Respiratory of Medical Affairs Germany.
