Responsibilities:

The Director, Global Policy will lead PAGA input into CSL Seqirus strategic planning and major commercial launches, projects and issues and will develop global policy programs and positions relevant to the CSL Seqirus seasonal vaccines portfolio and pipeline.

Given the complexities and size of the US market, this US-based role will also support the US PAGA team through policy and legislative evaluation and prioritization, and the development of policy solutions, plans, positions, submissions, and materials for internal and external audiences.

You will also ensure CSL Seqirus CEA representation in all relevant CSL Seqirus business forums, help improve integrated planning and process flows across the CSL Seqirus CEA team and be an important interface for the CEA Operational Excellence.

You will oversee the following:

Global Policy Leadership:
  • Develop, gather, and facilitate evidenced-based input from the PAGA team to inform CSL Seqirus strategic planning, annual priorities, and global launch plans, projects and issues.
  • Collaborate with the Comm Dev Team, the Medical Affairs Strategy Team and CSL Seqirus Comms team to ensure integrated planning and the achievement of joint goals.
  • Lead the development global policy strategies and plans to improve the value and uptake of CSL Seqirus seasonal portfolio and/or mitigate/defend risk, overseeing regional execution.
  • Represent CSL Seqirus CEA on the Vaccines Therapeutics Areas Management Team (VTALT) and the CSL Seqirus Global Commercial Advisory Board, providing policy expertise and advice on portfolio and pipeline discussions and conclusions, cascading information to the CEA team.
  • Ensure CSL Seqirus CEA representation in all other relevant business forums, planning processes and working groups.

US PAGA Partnership:
  • Monitor and advise the US PAGA team on the impact and prioritization of relevant policy and legislative trends and developments in the US.
  • Provide advice and support to the US PAGA team on the development of solutions and plans to address prioritized policy opportunities and risks.
  • Develop evidenced-based policy positions, messaging, submissions, briefings materials and other content that support policy shaping and advocacy efforts in the US, tailored to important partner groups/audiences, following the CSL framework.

Operational Excellence
  • Support the Head of CSL Seqirus CEA to maximize efficiencies and influence by creating integrated planning, process flows and information sharing across the CSL Seqirus CEA team.
  • Be the main PAGA interface for CEA Operational Excellence and ensure main points of interface are in place between CSL Seqirus CEA with other CSL CEA teams/COEs.
  • Prepare briefings and presentations for senior leaders.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate/professional degree in public policy, public health, political sciences or similar.
  • 10+ years' combined experience in healthcare policy and public affairs in the US and international markets, including serving as a policy SME within government, industry, advocacy groups and medical/scientific societies.
  • Knowledge of the vaccines industry and business context in the US and the EU, and in influenza.
  • Experience collaborating with colleagues at multiple levels throughout the company and geographies to brainstorm and co-create shared goals.
  • Experience developing evidence generation strategies and policy and advocacy communications tools to allow policy shaping and public affairs strategies.
