We're looking for an experienced manager to lead our Information Technology Media Collaboration Services team (formerly called Audio Visual). This team is responsible for supporting large deployments of video conferencing and high quality streaming while facing interesting challenges to develop unique solutions for Cruise. Our mission is to ensure that our fellow Cruisers and business partners have the best audio visual (AV) experience to help them do their best work. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality AV experiences. 

Responsibilities 

System Design & Implementation: 

  • Design, configure, and implement AV systems for various environments, including conference rooms, auditoriums, and event spaces. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand AV requirements and ensure systems meet organizational needs. 
  • Follow security best practices and work with our security team to implement policies.

Management & Oversight: 

  •  Manage the AV team, providing guidance and support for day-to-day operations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for all AV systems, including schematics, manuals, and operational procedures. 

Technical Support: 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve AV technical issues in a timely manner. 
  • Provide on-site and remote support for AV events, ensuring smooth operation during presentations and meetings.  

Vendor Management: 

  •  Work with external vendors for the procurement of AV equipment and services.  
  • Evaluate and recommend AV products and technologies to enhance operational efficiency.   

Budget Management: 

  • Develop and manage the AV department budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high standards of service. 

Training & Development: 

  • Train staff on the use of AV equipment and systems. 
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in AV technology, providing training and resources to the team.  

Project Management: 

  • Lead AV projects from conception to completion, ensuring timeliness and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate with IT and other departments for seamless integration of AV solutions.

Requirements 

  •  8+ years in a hands-on technical environment providing Audio Visual and Streaming support 5+ years managing a team 
  • 5+ years in managing Audio Visual for office build outs 
  • Working knowledge of networking principles and protocols 
  • Experience supporting a large deployment of video conferencing equipment 
  • Experience managing a team of AV Technicians (Google Meet and Zoom experience preferred) 
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, handle and complete multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment 
  • Empathy for end users, passion for frictionless user experiences, and a pulse for the future of Video Conferencing 
  • Genuine passion for AV solutions with an unbounded desire to learn 
  • For this role, you'll need to be highly collaborative and customer support focused

The salary range for this position is $151,700 - $223,100. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, long-term incentives, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
