Position overview:
Works closely with the Plant Electrical Engineer and performs a variety of electrical trade functions in the installation, maintenance, repair and/or distribution of electrical energy. Installs, maintains, and replaces electronic programmable controllers for the use in the manufacture of aluminum cans.
Duties And Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Plant Electrical Engineer, the Electrician/Electronics Technician (ET) responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
- This ET’s duties & responsibilities will be to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install electrical, electronic and control systems within this high-speed metal packaging manufacturing facility.
- Responsibilities include following all local, state, and federal electrical codes.
- Documentation of problems and maintenance of equipment, operation, and safety precautions.
- Responsibilities also include installing and maintaining new and existing electrical wiring within the facility as well as always working safely.
- Maintain cleanliness of electrical shop and job sites.
- Commitment to safety- Follow Safe work practices and company safety procedures
- Must have the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on occasion and regularly stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. This position may also require climbing or balancing.
- Performs other related duties as required includes use of ladders & scissor lifts etc.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to read electrical/electronic drawing, troubleshoot & repair technical problems, identify root causes (e.g., six sigma analysis) and propose and implement remedies.
- Knowledge and Troubleshooting of PLC control/Automated systems, writing PLC code a plus.
- Knowledge, working experience of conveyor line control.
- Knowledge of safety policies and procedures is required (e.g. lockout / tagout, low voltage electrical to 480V AC). Use of personal protective equipment’s as per site requirements.
- Knowledge of Motor Starters Circuit AC/DC Motor, Pumps and Starter circuits.
- Troubleshooting experience on Power Distribution Switch-Gears, MCC, SCR & VFD Required.
- Knowledge of safety policies and procedures of High Voltage Switch-Gear are required
- Ability to work off shifts (afternoons and midnights) and overtime, as necessary. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and climates. The FRC clothing will be required at work site.
- Must have the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on occasion and regularly stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- This position may also require climbing or balancing. Ability to use ladder & Scissor lifts etc.
- Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment. Ability to understand and follow Safe work procedures at all times.

Preferred Requirements
- Associate Degree or Certificate in Electrical/Electrical Engineering preferred, but not required.
- Journeyman license preferred but not required
- Minimum 3+ year’s industrial electrical/electronics system experience or two-year technical degree strongly preferred.
- Digital/Electronics, Data Logical Process & Line Control System Understanding Preferred
- Automation/PLC control system installation, commissioning, Test/Trial, troubleshooting and programming experience are preferred
- Production Environment & Machineries knowledge as well as Experience Preferred
- High Voltage Experience Preferred.

- PLC programming and troubleshooting experience preferred- Multiple platforms such as Allen Bradley PLC5, Control Logix, HMI, similar control system and Servo Drive.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes (e.g. six sigma analysis) and propose and implement remedies.
- Strong computer skills required; Microsoft Office proficiency as well as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems experience preferred.
- Experience in computer networking (routers, Ethernet, switches, etc.) preferred.
- Mechanical troubleshooting experience in high speed packaging and/or highly automated continuous process environment preferred.
- Ability to work off shifts (afternoons and midnights) and overtime, as necessary. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and climates
- Ability to listen, follow directions and communicate effectively
- Ability to manage time and work independently or with other team members
- Ability to assume additional job duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Knowledge of all electrical systems and components. (480V 3Ph Motor Starters & VFD).
- Working Knowledge of National Electrical Current Codes.
- Ability to perform calibrations, installation and maintenance of process and analytical instrumentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot and re-wire high speed and/or highly automated equipment such as AC/DC motors, SCR, VFDs, PLCs, servo motors, and PLC I/O modules.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Medium voltage load centers and metal clad operation and troubleshooting up to 42 KV
- Understanding and use of current NFPA electrical codes
