Division Overview:

Crown’s Closures, Aerosol & Promotional Packaging (CAPP) Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for the largest consumer packaging companies in North America.  Our distinguished list of clients including SC Johnson, Abbott Laboratories and Unilever.    We manufacture total packaging solutions including:

Closures: We manufacture a variety of decorative food and metal vacuum sealed closures, metal and composite closures, capping systems for glass and plastic container manufacturers.

Aerosol Packaging: We manufacture cans and ends for manufacturers of personal care, food, household and industrial products.  We offer our customers a broad range of products including multiple sizes, color schemes and shaped packaging.

Promotional and Specialty Packaging: We manufacture a wide array of decorative containers with numerous lid and closure variations.

Position Overview:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions including month end processes, preparing financial reports, reconciliations, payroll, sales commissions, and accounts payable.

Duties And Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Accounting Manager responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:   

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries to accounts documenting business transactions
  • Prepares GL Account and Bank Reconciliation
  • Prepares financial statements and other reports to summarize the company’s financial position.
  • Maintains Accounting Policy database
  • Identifies control gaps, develops and implements appropriate control procedures to resolve control deficiencies
  •  Assists in preparation for internal and external audits
  • Develop financial analysis and cost accounting skills
  • Oversees payroll and AP functions
  • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned

 


Qualifications:

In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts and GAAP
  • Proven track record of working in a team environment with a variety of departments
  • Experience working with an ERP system
  • Three (3) years Plant Manufacturing experience
  • Approximately 10% overnight travel
  • May occasionally need to work evening or weekend hours

Preferred Requirements

  • Packaging industry experience
  • AS400 experience

  • Must have very strong PC skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel (advanced)
  • Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy
  • Position requires someone who is self-motivated, analytical problem solver and has excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 
  • The associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus

 

Working Conditions

  • Generally works in an office setting but will be required to perform some job duties inside a plant environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic 
  • The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
  • The noise level is frequently loud
