About the Role:
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) role at CrowdStrike is the ideal starting point on a rewarding career in cyber security and technology sales!
This role is perfect for individuals who want to engage with customers, are keen to learn about the cyber industry and build valuable selling skills, like having clear goals and rewards for hitting them, and who want to roll up their sleeves to make an impact through their work.
You'll be part of a team with a winning culture that brings the best out of each other and has fun along the way, in a hybrid working model of 3 days in our North Sydney office and 2 days from home.
Being successful as an SDR at CrowdStrike means making a real impact in your time in the role, whilst building the skills and ability to progress into further roles in the business
What You'll Do:
- Sales Development is about nurturing and engaging with prospects (organisations that don't have CrowdStrike) to start conversations to understand their current cyber security situation and goals
- You'll use multiple channels including phone calls, emails, LinkedIn messages and more to connect with IT & Security professionals at these organisations, through a mix of outbound prospecting (you proactively reaching out) and inbound lead follow up (when a prospect engages with a marketing asset or event)
- Through question driven conversations, you'll identify if there is pain in the current situation that CrowdStrike can help solve, you'll then seek to book a meeting between the prospect and an account executive to explore this further
- You will have monthly targets on booking these meetings for your account teams to run, and you will be paid commissions for achieving and overachieving on your targets (uncapped)
- You'll work closely with key members of your broader CrowdStrike team including your peers, managers, account executives (that you will support) and our marketing function; who create assets, campaigns and events to help you engage and nurture our prospects
- You will be onboarded and given a world-class foundation in professional selling (including best practice sales frameworks) that will serve you throughout your career
- You will be trained in taking the complexities of cyber security and simplifying this so you can have meaningful conversations with customer focused on solving their problems
- Finally, you will commit to continual improvement and will undertake our formal progression certifications over your time in sales development that will prepare you for opportunities to promote into roles as an account executive, account manager, sales engineer and more (CrowdStrike has a rich history of former SDR's who are now excelling in promoted roles)
- A genuine desire to continually learn sales skills and about the cyber security industry in general
- Some technical aptitude and ability to learn new business and technical concepts quickly
- A strong drive to achieve and overachieve, both as an individual and as part of a team (strong work ethic)
- Good communication skills, it's critical to listen and ask questions, and then communicate in a clear manner
- A desire to build a career and progress at CrowdStrike
