Job Summary
Under the direction of the Quality Supervisor/Manager, the in-process inspector's primary responsibilities will be focused on performing start-up and in-process verifications. Other duties include audits on incoming and out-going products and other quality related projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform receiving inspections and document results.
- Perform shipping and system audits as requested.
- Communicate out of specification findings to production management.
- Write NCR's, Identify and segregate non-conforming product.
- Discuss non-conforming product dispositions with supervisor. Monitor the rework.
- Assist Quality Supervisor and Manager in evaluation of quality issues.
- Generate reports and records as requested.
- Participate in plant wide safety initiatives.
- Provide Plant wide support on quality issues.
- Communicate to oncoming shifts on quality issues verbally and in logbook.
- Discuss control plans with operators and set up techs to ensure that requirements are understood.
- Train operators to recognize quality issues and assist operators on product evaluations and quality procedures.
- Maintain sample retainers (Primex products and incoming products).
- Make process recommendations and suggest improvements of inspection procedures, manufacturing process improvements and control plans.
- Other duties as requested.

Job Requirements
- Ability to effectively gather and present information.

- Ability to use various inspection equipment, for example, caliper, micrometer, Indicators, scope etc.
- Attention to detail.

- Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings, and specs.
- Strong interpersonal skills.

- Proven Problem solving, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, exp. Excel, Word etc.
- Good English language verbal and written skills.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to exercise judgement to resolve problems that may occur during inspection operation.
- Technical diploma (2 years) considered an asset.
- Experience reading engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- 2 years' experience in Quality in a plastics injection molding manufacturing setting.
- Statistical background and training helpful.
- Knowledge of International Organization Standards (ISO).
- CMM training helpful.
- Solid understanding of relevant inspection techniques
- Experience using various inspection equipment.
Compensation
- The hourly pay rate is $23-$26/hr
