The Leidos National Security Sector Group is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team in the Engineering, Integration, and Operations Business Area. Specifically, the Marine Systems Group has an opening for a Quality Inspector at our South San Diego, CA location. This role will support our line of business in manufacturing and testing Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) system Anodes, Reference Cells, and cabling for submarines, surface ships, and offshore structures. This position is in the Quality Engineering Department, providing quality assurance, control, inspection, root cause analysis, measurement analysis, and continuous improvements in support of the Leidos Marine Systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of the Mission Assurance team and collaborate with project technicians, engineers, and managers to develop and implement QA surveillance approaches.
  • Perform receipt inspections, in-process inspections, final inspections, and shipping and receiving, closing out packages ready for shipment to the customer.
  • Conduct quality inspections of project deliverables and support performance verification testing as needed.
  • Collect and report on key process indicators to meet quality objectives, including on-time delivery, supplier ratings, receiving inspection first pass yield, and work order first pass yield.
  • Monitor and audit suppliers/vendors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with contract requirements and document nonconformance/corrective/preventive actions.
  • Execute timely quality audits in adherence with the program audit schedules and in compliance with Leidos policies and direction. Report audit results to program leadership.
  • Generate corrective action requests for audit findings and maintain the Common Audit Database (CAD) with timely updates/closures of audit findings.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for issues and findings that require corrective actions to identify potential system improvements.
  • Support QC activities and assist the quality manager with weekly/monthly reports as required.
  • Assist team lead and project manager with quality assurance, quality control, and prevention efforts.
  • Monitor and ensure that the requirements in the contract, SOW, task orders, and installation drawings are in accordance with applicable military, commercial, OSHA, and local standards for a quality product.

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with reading and understanding drawings.
  • Experience working with the following tools: SharePoint, MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • US citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity/experience with NAVSEA requirements/standards.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and CMMI Level 3 Quality Management Systems.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $39,650.00 - $71,675.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
