Position Overview

This role is essential in managing the daily operations of our landscaping supply yard. The ideal candidate will be organized, motivated, and hands-on, ensuring efficient operations, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and providing exceptional service to both customers and staff.

Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Manage daily activities within the landscape yard.
  • Considerable knowledge of different aggregates, sizes and classifications.
  • Maintain a consistent supply of essential landscape materials.
  • Monitor stock levels of key landscaping supplies and place orders with vendors to sustain optimal inventory levels.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks to rectify any discrepancies.
  • Oversee staff to ensure the efficient loading, unloading, and organization of materials.
  • Provide expert guidance to customers regarding choice and usage of materials to ensure optimal results.
  • Accurately quote prices, complete sales transactions, address customer questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Excellent customer service and sales skills.
  • Act as a key point of contact between the company and our customers to ensure a smooth sales and delivery process by managing the shipping, receiving and the scheduling of deliveries.
  • Knowledge of weight requirements and loading restrictions.
  • Maintain compliance of safety guidelines and protocols within the landscape yard.
  • Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Speak and articulate clear verbal communication through various media - email, two-way radio, face-to-face, etc.

Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of general computer operation; Inventory and Order processing systems; knowledge and experience utilizing Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Valid driver's license required.
