WHAT YOU'LL DO

Responsible for combining many different skills and experiences to address and solve business, information, and technology related opportunities, and problems for Cracker Barrel with respect to the Point of Sale (POS) platform. Assists with overseeing the development and implementation of POS architectural applications. Conducts business reviews, assesses current applications and manages how to best use applications, in alignment with organizational objectives.

 

  • Define, implement, and execute the foundation architecture principles to drive Cracker Barrel’s POS solution(s) into future.
  • Working in conjunction with the Enterprise Architect to set up the processes for definition, maintenance, and conformance management in support of the overall Enterprise Architecture vision.
  • Partner with Store Technology and Menu teams to maximize the capabilities of the POS for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Software Engineering team to create interfaces between POS and corporate systems, and to build new processes that support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Continued research and assessment of new analysis approaches to contribute to solutions of modernizing strategies
  • Act as subject matter expert on POS architecture, in particular how the POS communicates with all other platforms, both cloud and on-premise.
  • Assisting in aligning business and enterprise initiatives with the POS architecture and auditing compliance within the POS Architecture standards
  • Serve as advisor to leadership teams on business and information integration strategies

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree expected in a technical discipline, with 10+ years in application development, architectural design and/or the equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in Point of Sales systems, with the majority of that experience in cloud POS strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of POS operations, particularly with respect to restaurant operations
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong Presentation Skills
  • Skills in productivity, planning and workload management
  • Strong exposure to store systems and technology and experience working with development teams
  • Strong working knowledge of Restaurant technology systems included but not limited to Kitchen Display Systems, Dining Room Management Systems, Payment Systems, Online Ordering platforms, Third Party Delivery platforms, Food Cost Management Systems, Labor Scheduling Systems.
  • Familiarity with Retail Systems and integrations to back end inventory and accounting systems.
  • Experienced with modern API management and integration platforms such as Mulesoft.
  • Experienced with Loyalty programs
  • Experienced with Enterprise payment platforms including modern Payment gateways
