Short Description

Assists faculty and staff in the preparation of federal, state, and other grant applications and budgets. Works with faculty and staff to develop administrative and regulatory/compliance components of grant applications.

 

Reviews proposals submitted for federal, state, university, and private sources to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.

 

Develops and manages grant databases for proposal development/submission and award tracking.

 

Grant Applications Submitted Through Cooper University Health Care:

1) Assist faculty and staff in the preparation of federal, state, and other grant applications and budgets.

 

2) Review proposal submission instructions or guidelines from funding sources.

 

3) Assist with preparing grant budgets, including initial development and (if needed) re-budgeting to accommodate modifications, increases, or decreases in available funds.

 

4) Ensure and secure internal institutional approvals prior to grant submission.

 

5) Upload and submit application to funder. 

 

Grant Applications Submitted Through Outside Entities:

 

1) When grants/contracts are through an outside entity, e.g. Rowan University, work their Office of Sponsored Programs to submit applications.

 

2) When grants/contracts are through an outside entity, e.g. Rowan University, notify Cooper of their specific requirements and obtain Cooper’s assurance to meet these before submission of the application.

 

Regulatory: 1) Ensure Cooper is qualified/registered to be an applicant.

2) Ensure Cooper is qualified/registered to be an applicant.

 

3) Provide guidance and expertise to faculty, research administration and other staff on grant and contract administrative and regulatory/compliance issues.

 

4) Maintain expertise in CUHC and federal/state private agencies’ regulations and policies and stays up-to-date on new laws affecting sponsored program activities, including familiarity with OMB Circulars A-133, A-21, A-102 (2 CFR Part 200). 

 

Grant Reporting:

 

1) Develop and manage grant databases for proposal development/submission and award tracking.

 

2) Participate in the development and preparation of periodic and annual reports for all applications and funded projects.

 

3) Notify Post-Award Grants and Contracts Analyst and Finance of pending grant submissions.

 

Maintaining grant related CRI policies and uploading updates to the CRI website.


Experience Required

2 years of related experience. 

Preferred/Special Consideration:

Familiarity with grant budgeting, grants.gov application packages.

Familiarity with 2 CFR Part 200 (federal OMB Circulars A-133, A-21, A-102).

Bachelor’s Degree

Good working experience with WORD and Excel
