Summary:
Implements Cook Children's Health Care System Infection Control Program and Surveillance Plan. Highly experienced Infection Preventionist with an exceptional skill set and knowledge in a variety of infection preventions practices throughout the spectrum of care. The Senior IP will work on a broad and diverse portfolio of system wide infection prevention projects requiring the ability to flex their communication and leadership style. Performs surveillance for detection and prevention of infections occurring in the Fort Worth Medical Center and associated outpatient facilities. Utilizes an epidemiologic approach to preventing and controlling infections through problem solving, application of appropriate interventions, and education of personnel and families. Coordinates, implements, analyzes and makes independent judgments regarding institutional infection control practice and regulatory compliance. Manages aspects of data management, including abstraction, submission to federal agencies, and reporting to hospital/unit/department leadership.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3 years of experience in Infection Prevention and Control
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of the infection prevention and control process in the healthcare setting.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, TJC, CDC, AIA and Texas DSHS compliance related to IC preferred
- Excellent computer, communication, and Information Systems skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment with strong analytical capabilities, excellent interpersonal and oral, written, communication skills, Adept in principles of adult education required
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
- CIC certification
