Summary:
The Director, Microsoft Applications and Services will provide technical leadership for Microsoft 365 solutions that are delivered across the Cook Children Health Care System. Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer, the Director will be a self-motivated, hands-on individual that is responsible for the design, implementation and support of the M365 applications and services that run within Cook Children Microsoft tenant(s). In addition to oversight of M365 applications, the Director will facilitate tenant governance across the other information technology teams using Microsoft services to ensure that people, process and technology align to support the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the services.

The Director will also have responsibilities that include strategic planning, capital/operating budgets, resource planning, service management, and change management. The Director is expected to be an ambassador of the Information Services organization through engagement and will work with staff on performance reviews, coaching, mentoring and other professional development. The Director will proactively work with IT leadership, management and customers to plan, develop, implement and support new initiatives that will improve efficiencies, enhance security and/or be cost effective across the entire organization. The Director identifies the standards and/or policies by which application development teams and/or customers shall use Microsoft applications and/or services.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree required.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in information technology.
Minimum of 10 years implementing and/or supporting Microsoft applications and services for a large enterprise with over 5,000 employees.
Minimum of 5 years in healthcare and in a supervisory position.
Minimum of 5 years leading Microsoft 365 implementations and/or support teams.
1 year experience with Imprivata products and/or solutions including ConfirmID, OneSign, and/or Identity Governance preferred
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
None required, although relevant industry certifications given preference.
Extensive experience in architecting and managing large Microsoft 365 environments including policy and/or governance.
Experience creating and maintaining detailed security process documentation.
Broad experience in disaster recovery planning and exercises.
Broad experience in automating workflows that result in efficient and exceptional end-user experiences.
Extensive infrastructure and application support experience using industry standard ticketing and incident management systems.
Extensive knowledge and support experience with common productivity applications such as Office 365, mobile device management, and mobile application support.
Knowledge of computer hardware, including PCs, phone and network equipment.
Familiarity and practical application of advanced principles of ITIL/ITSM.
Demonstrated progressive experience in the management of a technical support team.
