Summary:

The Director of Human Resources Information Systems ("Director") is a key member of the HR Leadership team with shared accountability for the success of our department and Cook Children's. You will be charged with leading the HR Information Systems Team (HRIS) and overseeing the strategic direction, implementation, and operation of the organization's HRIS Systems including the optimization and management of the Workday system to support the organization's goals.

You will be a subject matter expert who routinely collaborates with HR, IT, and other key stakeholders, at all levels of the organization, to develop and maintain system functionality, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, define project requirements, and implement HR technology solutions. As the HRIS Director, you will be a thought leader who advises senior leadership and may participate on organization-wide committees to provide guidance on appropriate courses of actions, risks, emerging trends, and best practices relying on experience and judgement to accomplish goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • In lieu of degree, 5 years progressive experience in directly related field
  • 8+ years of experience in HRIS or HR technology, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Extensive experience with Workday and other HRIS platforms (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM).
  • Experience leading HRIS implementations or upgrades.
  • Significant experience leading and managing systems projects.

  • Communicating - Communicating effectively orally and in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience, express or exchange ideas by verbal communications. Considers optimal messaging and timing of communications. Promotes dialogue to develop a shared understanding, checks own understanding through paraphrasing and asking questions.
  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work - Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
  • Problem Sensitivity and problem solving - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing that there is a problem. The ability to systematically analyze problems, draw relevant conclusions and devise appropriate courses of action.
