We are looking for a highly skilled Director of Auto Machine Learning (AutoML) to lead and drive our automated machine-learning initiatives. This role will be crucial in developing and implementing advanced AutoML strategies to enhance our digital and predictive capabilities and deliver transformative insights for our business. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of machine learning, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully deploying AutoML solutions in a commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive AutoML strategy that aligns with the company's overall Data and Analytics goals and in consideration of business strategy and readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AutoML to solve business problems and drive innovation in collaboration with data science team members.
  • Stay updated on the latest AutoML advancements and ensure the team remains at the forefront of the field.
  • Collaborate with teams across data engineering, data science, business analytics, and Governance to uphold quality standards across data and models

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of machine learning engineers and ML scientists.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development within the team.

Technical Expertise:

  • Build a scalable AutoML platform as a product, taking inputs from multiple teams (data science, data engineers, and business stakeholders) to help them deliver their objectives.
  • Design, implement, and oversee the deployment of AutoML solutions across various projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AutoML solutions into production environments using platforms such as Azure and Snowflake
  • Utilize Azure's machine learning services and Snowflake's data warehousing capabilities to enhance AutoML performance

Project Management:

  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of AutoML projects, from conception to deployment and monitoring.
  • Monitor post-deployment to identify drift across model performance & data, enabling timely interventions.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and results to stakeholders at all levels.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work closely with data science team members and business leaders to understand and translate their needs into AutoML solutions.
  • Present findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on AutoML and its applications within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in machine learning or a related field, focusing on AutoML.
  • Proven experience leading and managing technical teams.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or Java.
  • In-depth knowledge of machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and MLOps practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or Ph.D in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field
  • Experience in deploying AutoML solutions in large-scale, real-world environments.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data engineering practices.
  • Publications or contributions to the AutoML community.

The salary range for this role is:
$134,000.00 - $290,000.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
