A role you will love

The Reconciliation and Control Specialist performs daily functions necessary to ensure investment funds and shares are in proof prior to post trade, reconciling capital movements before dividends are calculated and ensuring broker accounts are reconciled to nominee accounts. Functions also include identification and remediation of complex out of balances within 5 days of notification and preparing aged item as well as client reporting.

Equipment will be shipped directly to your house so you can be prepared for success. Also, if you were hoping for a Full-time position that gives you work-life balance, this position works M-F day shifts with the expectation that you will work in office some of the time.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reconciling investment remittances in preparation for going to market.
  • Reconciling capital movements before dividends are calculated and after trades are completed.
  • Identification and remediation of complex out-of-balances within 5 business days of notification.
  • Preparation of investment memos.
  • Aged Item reporting/Client reporting.
  • Work with various departments to resolve exceptions.
  • Must take and successfully pass the Kenexa Microsoft Excel Assessment.
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by management.

What will you bring to the role?

The Recon and Control Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of routine and non-routine reconciliation functions in accordance with standard procedures to ensure investment funds/shares are in proof prior to and post trade. As you can imagine, we need this incumbent to have great attention to detail. Supporting a core process isn't an easy job, but it can be truly rewarding.

Other key skills required for the role include:

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Team Player but also able to work independently.
  • Flexible to change.
  • Able to multitask and pay attention to the details.
  • Ability to think critically and research information.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Accounting/Finance background (Preferred).
