A role you will love
As our Product Owner Practice Lead, you will drive the delivery of high-quality solutions and is accountable for all aspects of the software development process across a portfolio of applications and supporting frameworks.
In this role you will be responsible for the PO practice - using their knowledge of techniques, technology, tools, policy and methodologies to ensure that Product Roadmaps are translated into functional backlogs ensuring development meets business vision and market needs. You will also be responsible for people management and leadership of global teams. The role will focus on ensuring that there is a clearly defined progression plan for ambitious and high potential individuals within the team, and ensuring that the team is challenged, motivated and harmonized.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Facilitating the team delivery of high-quality solutions that are stable and resilient; conform to security and architectural standards; and are developed in line with the software development methodology.
- Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to shape new services and products spanning business and regional boundaries.
- Managing individual and team performance and progress to meet objectives through goal setting, regular feedback, coaching, reward and recognition and following the appraisal process.
- Focus on innovation, quality and productivity to uplift delivery capability.
- Looking ahead to ensure the team has the talent it needs to attain its goals. Identifying and nurture potential and provide a supportive and challenging environment for staff to learn and develop.
What will you bring to the role?
As you've probably gathered by now, we are looking for an innovative and detail-oriented person with a real passion for Product Ownership & Leadership. We are looking for a natural mentor and leader, who has the ability to build and manage excellent relationships with all of our stakeholders and technology teams to deliver exceptional products.
With this role being global and a key part of our team, we are looking for someone with Significant experience in an IT or Product Ownership role. You will need to come with exceptional stakeholder management experience given this is a role where you will be working with Stakeholders from across the globe.
Other key skills required for the role include:
- Significant experience liaising with stakeholders to understand needs, propose solutions and translate these for other members of the Squad.
- Excellent management skills - organising work and resources, planning and setting priorities, delegating effectively, timely monitoring and performance management.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with staff and stakeholders.
- Experience as a Manager/Team Leader working with (global, geographically dispersed) development teams across the full software development lifecycle or significant experience within IT & Product Ownership.
- Experience of technical mentoring of POs with a track record of maximising the individual potential of team members.
- Curious and continuous learner - investigates, interprets and grasps new concepts.
